OREGON - PPS Teachers on STRIKE The losers STUDENTS

PPS teachers are on strike. At the mediation leading up to November 1st, the day of the strike, in order to give the teachers what they wanted would be a $277 MILLION cut in services and positions in the current PPS budget. Currently PPS is funded to the tune of $700 million. The legislators have called out the PPS school board and have told them to FIND THE MONEY to give the teachers what they want. What is highly ironic is that Rep. Travis Nelson who was on the picket lines with the teachers later signed the letter to tell the PPS school board to find the money. So is it that legislators don't want to make the UNIONS angry? They don't want to BITE the hand that feeds their campaigns? It is like watching a custody battle. The legislators, the unions, the teachers are fighting over what they think is best yet the students of OREGON are DEAD LAST!
