Paralelo entre a sociedade atual e Roma. Os cristãos eram perseguidos por rejeitarem a autoridade espiritual do Estado, à semelhança do que ocorre hoje. A Religião Civil estabelecida não aceita concorrência. Os Estados Totalitários não aceitam o Cristianismo e o perseguem brutalmente porque o padrão moral do mesmo está acima e a crença de um Deus que julga a todos, inclusive o próprio Estado, não é agradável aos Ditadores.

Parallel between current society and Rome. Christians were persecuted for rejecting the spiritual authority of the State, similar to what happens today. The established Civil Religion does not accept competition. Totalitarian States do not accept Christianity and brutally persecute it because its moral standard is higher and the belief in a God who judges everyone, including the State itself, is not pleasing to Dictators.
