Our true place in the Milky Way galaxy is that of one of its many stars, located in one of its spiral arms. The Milky Way is a vast structure containing billions of stars, star clusters, nebulae, and other celestial objects.

The Sun, along with its family of planets, including Earth, orbits around the center of the Milky Way galaxy. It takes the Sun approximately 225-250 million years to complete one orbit, which is known as a galactic year or cosmic year.
