1959 Johnson 5 1/2 hp seahorse dual fuel line connector repair

Restoring a 1956 Johnson 5 1/2 hp Seahorse equipped with a dual fuel line connector. The engine boasts strong compression and spark. I've recently swapped out the fuel line leading to the sediment bowl. However, there's a persistent issue with the fuel connector at the fuel tank, where a leak occurs around the gasket. The only viable solution involves removing the brass fitting, which requires some forceful tapping with a hammer.
