On October 29th 2023, Deputies were out patrolling the streets in anticipation of the busy Halloween night. Around 1:30am, Deputies spotted a vehicle driving recklessly near State Road 60 on 58th Avenue.

A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver fled from deputies, reaching speeds over 100mph. The vehicle drove into a residential neighborhood, where it struck one of the pursuing patrol vehicles.

Deputies successfully stopped the vehicle after a PIT maneuver near the 7600 block of State Road 60.

The driver (dressed in his Halloween best) was taken into custody. His charges are listed below:

Driver: Tylor Gaban
- Driving Under the Influence
- Flee & Elude
- Violation of Probation
- Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to keeping our community safe from impaired drivers. Had this been on Halloween night, the streets might have been filled with children and families.
