Got the mechanicals taken apart and put back together. Radiator, belts, hoses, full trans service, full engine service, cleaned and dressed everything... Schwew!!!
Removed the crunched parts, repaired the skid plate mount, and building a new and far better guard to go under the plastic... yeah, plastic bumper.
It's hard to believe that Toyota would do that. To knowingly build a line of trucks that have slagged steel frames... and sell them proudly, then fight recalling them, only to be forced to replace the entire frame on all of them that were brought in for the recall.
What a waste of money and time, when they KNEW that Steel Was Shit.
2 of our trucks were taken in for the repairs. One was not, and this is what I have to deal with on my truck.
An otherwise, very well built truck.
