Has Russell Brand responded to the Allegations appropriately?

LOCKER ROOM TALK

I recorded my comments on the Russell Brand situation on Saturday, Sep 16, the day I first learned of the allegations. These were intended for an upcoming episode of Cinephobia Radio entitled, "The Velvet Buzzsaw," however I'm previewing these audio snippets now because I knew the story was going to quickly escalate.

And escalate it has, much faster than I realized it would. Russell's been wiped out of existence, his YouTube channel's been de-monetized, his promoter has cancelled all of his speaking engagements, his publisher has dropped him and the entire British Isles has imploded into a full blown moral panic, mass formation drenched in puritanical, sanctimonious virtuosity.

Over and over again, in mainstream news articles, you see Brand described as an "Alt Right" "Conspiracy Theorist" who spreads "Covid-19 Misinformation."

Well, as anyone who's ever listened to Brand's YouTube and Rumble shows can attest, those are all categorical LIES.

I repeat, for the benefit of the hard of hearing and the near of sight, those are all categorical LIES!

Abject, indefensible, inexcusable LIES.

And I can illustrate this quite easily by lining up these claims with Brand's own comments from his show (an exercise I will undertake on Cinephobia Radio in the nearish future).

It's true that Brand discusses many so-called "Conspiracy Theories" on his show, or rather critiques many so-called "Conspiracy Theories" but it's always from a rational perspective with a focus on what's evidentiary and he never gives way to irrational, illogical and evidence-free thinking.

As for being "Alt Right," that has to be one of the most laughable and "180 degrees divergent from reality" smears I've ever read about the hardcore radical anarchist leftie who preaches tolerance, love and acceptance for all.

And the only time I've ever caught him spreading "Covid-19 Misinformation" was in the early days of the pandemic when, knowing nothing of substance to the contrary, he would often repeat mainstream media, corporate consensus narratives on the crisis. And I should remind you that the vast majority of the mainstream media, corporate consensus narratives on the crisis have already been obliterated, even within the mainstream media context.

So we have a situation now where Brand is claiming one thing and the mainstream media is claiming another. The problem with that dynamic however is that the mainstream media's credibility has been blown to bits, simply on the basis of these repeated, demonstrable lies and smears.

I'm sorry your honour, but the plaintiff is simply not a credible witness.
