The Taliban has vowed to respect women’s rights . . . within the limitations of Islamic law. So what does Islamic law say about women's right? Well, it kind of depends on who is interpreting them, which is part of why the Taliban's promise is so troubling. They've also promised not to go after people who worked with the Afghan government or those who fought against them.
