If you’re struggling to flee from youthful passions, first repent, and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Forgive yourself, and receive God’s forgiveness. God knows you’re human, he sees, and knows your humanity, he isn’t disgusted with you or disappointed in you. But he knows the damage that sin does to us if we don’t understand his love for us, and the provisions he has made for us.

If you’re struggling with gossiping as an example, pick a few verses out in the Bible that talk about gossiping and meditate on those daily. Say them out loud, because “faith comes through hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to turn away from your sin. You must come to a place where you know that you can’t do anything of your own accord. You’re utterly helpless without the Lord, and the strength you need only comes from him. You must lay down all striving, and works. If you ask, he will help you.
