Westbound Interstate 275 reopens in Anderson Township after overnight police chase

Traffic is flowing along once more on westbound Interstate 275 after being closed for about an hour early Friday morning. Police said this began as a police chase on Beechmont Avenue at about 3:22 a.m. They said a state trooper's cruiser was clipped while attempting a pivot maneuver to get the suspect to stop. The driver continued onto westbound I-275 and eventually pulled over between Five Mile Road and New Richmond Road. However, the suspect forgot to put the car in park, police said, so it rolled back and struck a District Five officer's cruiser. Tow trucks took away the cruiser, reopening all lanes at about 5:30 a.m.  No other details were immediately available.
