'Banning the protest dishonours memory of those who fought for freedom of speech and assembly'

In an interview on 6 November with LBC's Andrew Marr, Raghad Altikriti, Chair of the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), discussed the purpose behind the protests for Palestine held every Saturday. These demonstrations are in response to the sheer horror and scale of the casualties in Gaza, with a call for a ceasefire, she said.

Altikriti mentioned that the upcoming march on 11 November, Armistice Day, is "a call for an armistice on Armistice Day", explaining how the protests have remained peaceful throughout. She added that the marches are attended by large sections of British society.
