Tranquil Koi Pond Turtle and Turtle Care PSA

When my son was young, he won a red-eared slider turtle at a carnival. We kept the turtle, named Rocky, for a decade before eventually giving him to a veterinarian who had a turtle pond. Rocky had outgrown our home during those 10 years, but in that time, we gained a lot of knowledge about red-eared sliders. This happened more than 15 years ago.

However, TODAY, while dining at a Japanese restaurant, I sat near a pond and noticed a red-eared slider exhibiting disoriented swimming and tipping over. I promptly informed the restaurant staff and manager that the turtle appeared to be suffering from a respiratory infection.

As a result, I'm sharing this video as a relaxing 3-minute break during our busy days and as a source of educational information about turtles.
