DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATRE GOTHC

DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATRE GOTHIC is a 2021 art film produced by MadCap Enterprises and starring Michael James Fry. The unusual film hosts the use of still photographs and live footage taken from two, broken-down and closed Drive-In movie theatres in southwest Ohio. Thanks very much for watching.

Two quick thoughts about this project:

[1] These photos and moving images were shot on December 30th, 2009, using a 2008 Toshiba laptop computer ~ which is why the moving footage is so shaky; (however, for some viewers, this particular quality may serve to delight with regard to the essence of the mood created therewith); and

[2] what you see in this video comes from an 11-year afterthought; as the original intent in creating these images was merely to document these Drive-In theatres before they were torn down ~ and so the idea of using these images and moving footages to create an art film came much, much later. I'm attracted to the idea of art that inspires other art; and the making of this brief film is a perfect example of that.
