California travel journalist Veronica Hill shares her Queen Mary travel guide in this episode of "California Travel Tips."

The Queen Mary ship in Long Beach is one of the most popular Los Angeles attractions, and well worth a visit for its historical value. While you're there, join a ghost tour, or have dinner at the elegant Sir Winston's restaurant.

The Queen Mary Hotel, which had been looking dated for decades, has been returned to its former splendor, complete with flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations in each stateroom.

Take your pick of 314 first-class rooms, or splurge in one of their nine suites. Each room boasts handsome wood paneling, Art Deco fixtures, and original puncalouvers (once used for air conditioning).

During her service at sea, the Queen Mary hosted famous passengers like Fred Astaire, Greta Garbo, and Winston Churchill (who signed D-Day invasion plans on the ship).

Be sure to dine at least once in Sir Winston's, the ship's signature restaurant. The fresh seafood, combined with stunning views of Long Beach city, make for a memorable night.
