Praying Mantis Attempts To Catch Digital Spider On Phone

This is a video of a praying mantis attempting to catch and supposedly eat a digital spider running around on an iPhone from one of those games designed for cats.

Turns out it's not just cats who like to watch videos on smart phones. This praying mantis responded in quite a catlike manner.

This species should be added to the many who are entranced watching a video screen. The spider crawling across the phone screen is a game designed for cats, but the praying mantis sees a potential dinner.

The mantis can be seen chewing on its own front leg, like a nervous habit wondering "What did I do wrong, I reached out, but I missed him, I don't feel that my tummy is full".

The mantis is overly surprised and shocked, it seems like he put his finger on his forehead, thinking and wondering why he cannot eat the spider when he is right in front of him, puzzled by the situation!

Sorry, bud, that spider wouldn't be very filling, even if you could catch him. This little guy belongs to German insect breeder Adrian Kozakiewicz.

Mantises have elongated bodies with forelegs that are greatly enlarged and adapted for catching and gripping prey. Their upright posture, while remaining stationary with forearms folded, has led to the common name praying mantis.
