Geostorm (2017) Movie Description

After a series of devastating natural disasters, the world's governments unite to create a network of satellites called Dutch Boy, which is designed to control the global climate. For three years, Dutch Boy is a success, preventing countless disasters. But then, something goes wrong.

Jake Lawson (Gerard Butler), the architect of Dutch Boy, is called back to duty to investigate. He quickly discovers that the system has been hacked and is now programmed to create a massive geostorm that could wipe out all life on Earth.

Jake must race against time to stop the geostorm and save the world. He teams up with his estranged brother Max (Jim Sturgess), the Secretary of State (Ed Harris), and a crew of international experts to stop the satellites and prevent the impending disaster.
