In Debian Linux systems it is possible to just copy a partition to another partition and then insert the correct UUID numbers in the new install /etc/fstab file. Here I am using a penguins-eggs compressed filesystem.squashfs file I took off a Live usb thum drive.

It is also easy to mount an iso file and then copy out the filesystem.squashfs file too.
Ultimately, I will build a yad GUI User Interface that takes care of all the notification and explanation of the code. Then the main script will be fully automatic Start to finish.

Its beta, and I need to update a few things. Auto detect mount directories; mount points; and updating of fstab. In this demonstration I update the UUID in fstab manually. Comments welcome: Copylinux.com
