The US confirmed for the first time that it has been flying unarmed surveillance drones over Gaza. Several US MQ-9 Reaper drones have been orbiting over Gaza amid Israeli strikes and military activity there, according to US officials. The flights are reportedly part of an effort to help locate the estimated 240 hostages captured by Hamas, 10 of whom are said to be from the US.
