“The Justice of God Will Be Satisfied”
30th In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. Scoffers Mock at God’s Justice - 2 Peter 3:1-4
* A. The one doctrine they hate above all is the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ 
* 1. They acknowledge the prophesies of His 2nd Advent
* a. They claim they haven’t be fulfilled and thus
* b. The Judgement Day prophesied will not come
* c. They claim uniformitarianism  
* 2. But they deny the evidence in every corner of the earth that God does Judge and has already judged the earth
* a. Jesus taught as much - Matthew 24:37-39 
* b. Uniformitarianism disproven at Mount St. Helens
* B. The evidence of God’s Judgment is the World Wide Flood 

II. What God Did in the Days of Noah - 2 Peter 3:5-6
* A. First Peter reminds us of the Creation - Genesis 1:1-9
* 1. The earth was initially covered with water - thus things were not always the way they are now
* 2. The dry land emerged from the waters at God’s command
* B. The flood came as God’s judgement for mankind’s great wickedness - Genesis 6:5-8 
* 1. Every square inch of ground was covered with water - Genesis 7:19-23
* 2. This severe judgment in the days of Noah stands as a vivid reminder to all mankind that God is Just and will judge the wicked
* a. Every culture on earth has a flood account
* b. Flood Geology reveals the evidence still present that catastrophism is true, not uniformitarianism 
* C. Be prepared for judgment Day - Revelation 6:15-17
