NH Attorney General Targets Man Under State Civil Rights Act for Constitutionally Protected Speech

The New Hampshire Attorney General is going after a man for leaving a less than polite note on a man’s truck that commented on his race and said he should be shot. This clearly falls under protected speech and was not a threat. The US Supreme Court has ruled on cases similar to this and made that clear. Which is exactly why the man was not and is not being charged with any crimes like criminal threatening or the like and is instead being sued civilly under the state’s Civil Rights Act for his protected speech by the attorney general.
