Thanks to the cooperation of the SBU and EU law enforcement officers, drug dealers who disguised their "goods" in washing powder received prison terms

According to the materials of the joint investigation of the Security Service and law enforcement agencies of France and Poland, the organizers of the international channel of smuggling of hard drugs received real terms of imprisonment.

We are talking about three residents of Prykarpattia who headed an international criminal group. Criminals transported wholesale batches of foreign "Subutex" pills containing the particularly dangerous drug buprenorphine for sale in our country.

In order to covertly transport the "goods" across the borders of the EU and Ukraine, the perpetrators hid them in boxes with washing powder.

All three criminals were arrested in Ivano-Frankivsk "red handed" during an attempt to import contraband "goods" back in 2019.

Since then, thanks to the joint actions of the Ukrainian special service and EU law enforcement officers, it has been possible to collect an indisputable evidence base on the arrested suspects.

Thus, in Ukraine, the court sentenced one of them to 11 years in prison, and two more to 10 years in prison.

In addition, during this period, other members of the drug gang who were in the territory of the European Union were identified and detained.

Four of them - a Ukrainian and three from North Africa - have also already received prison terms on the territory of the EU.

In total, the Security Service documented this group for smuggling into Ukraine 35,000 drug-containing pills for a total amount of more than UAH 9 million.

In order to "legalize" the profits, the organizers of the "business" bought up luxury real estate and premium cars in Prykarpattia.

In Ukraine, the court found three organizers of a drug gang guilty under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Complex development was carried out by SBU employees in Ivano-Frankivsk region together with National Police investigators under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office and in cooperation with Europol and Eurojust
