In the USA there was the most terrible and catastrophic traffic accident in Louisiana.

Fog in Louisiana caused a massive accident in which 158 cars collided.
It happened last Monday, October 23, west of New Orleans on I-55 highway.
Seven people were killed in the crash, at least 25 were injured, and a string of mangled vehicles remains on the Morepas Lake Bridge for now.
Some of the vehicles caught fire during the crash, and rescuers were forced to drain hazardous materials from a tanker truck frozen among the mangled vehicles.
Traffic on the I-55 interstate highway was shut down.

Local media described the weather conditions as "super foggy," but the National Weather Service explained
that two factors contributed to the significant reduction in visibility: fog over the waters of Lake Maurepas and smoke from nearby smoldering peat bogs.
In calm wind conditions, the mixture of fog and smoke reduced visibility to 3 meters.
