MOSCOW, September 19. /TASS/. Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Sevastopol recovered from the bottom of Gilzovaya Bay and destroyed more than 1.2 thousand ammunition from the Great Patriotic War. The department's press service reported this to TASS (https://tass.ru/obschestvo/18780369).
“In Gilzovaya Bay off the coast of Sevastopol, divers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have been working for the third year in a row. About 1,200 ammunition from the Great Patriotic War were lifted from the water and destroyed in one day,” the press service said.
In total, in 2023, Emergencies Ministry specialists neutralized more than 4 thousand explosive objects in Gilzovaya Bay. “Specialists from the emergency department have already completed 423 dives with a total duration of over 600 hours and examined more than 2 hectares of the bottom,” the press service added. Artillery shells, mortar shells, hand grenades, and German and Soviet-made fuses were recovered from the water.
