Don’t let off leash dogs come into contact with your dog
So you couldn’t totally avoid your chances at having a run in with an off leash dog, and now you see one approaching in the distance. What do you do next? The 2nd option to properly handle an off leash dog encounter is DO NOT allow the dogs to come into contact with each other. Carrying tools like a pet corrector or air horn can help you to scare the dog away from your dog. Not to mention, if you can successfully get out of that situation, you’re going to earn a lot of trust and brownie points with your own dog because you show them that you had control over the situation! For our 3rd and final tip for handling off leash dog encounters, keep an eye out for our post later today!
