Why are Muslims so upset?

It's historical fact, written in the hadith, you can't just erase itvor deny it! Other religions weren't so innocent either, but those passages have been removed as times have changed. I don't understand why quoting a truth results with this behaviour or is it because that's what is expected of them? Not really promoting Islam as a religion of peace, is it.
