Israeli soldier hostage rescued from Gaza

A female Israeli soldier, kidnapped by Hamas, has been released from captivity. Uri Magidish was freed during a ground operation after being taken hostage by Hamas on October 7. She's believed to be in good spirits after a medical examination. Photo of Magidish with her family after being freed have been released. According to Israeli authorities, more than 230 people were taken hostage during the October 7 attack on southern Israel by Hamas.

A former senior Israeli politician has urged the international community stand firm in their demands for the immediate release of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas.

Speaking to Sky News Australia on Tuesday, Ayelet Shaked held up a picture of a three-year-old girl taken hostage by the terror group on October 7.

Yahel was snatched from her home in southern Israel by militants along with her older brother Naveh and parents Adi and Tal Shoham, according to the BBC.

It is believed the family were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot in Kibbutz Be'eri when the attack occurred.

“You know I carry with me a picture of one of the hostages, her name is Yahel,” Ms Shaked told First Edition host Peter Stefanovic.

“Look at this angel. She is three-years-old. Seven people from her family are in captivity right now.”

Ms Shaked also said three extended family members who were also kidnapped are dead.

“They (Hamas) are just monsters and you know we hope to bring them all back to Israel safe,” she continued.

“Hamas should know we will not rest until we do it and we eliminate them.”
