The concept of Twin Flames is highly misunderstood within the spiritual vernacular, and its meaning has been twisted up into a means of romantic self-completion. This has resulted in this externalization of love in order to find our "missing piece" and has generated the energy of False Twinning within the lower worlds, creating karmic ties of physical separation between them. Twins are meant to embody the spirit of divine love. Their love for one another is eternal and timeless and can never be severed.

Before time, those connected to the unity field began as a singular soul essence which was split into both masculine and feminine polarities. This is why they are so magnetized towards one another, as an essential law of the universe is that opposites attract. All those who have chosen to learn this way will cross paths in this lifetime and reunite their soul essences through the process of hierogamic union. Hierogamic union is a process of calling all of your pieces back home in order to achieve full sacred marriage on every level. This allows the soul to live as their Christed Self within the earth plane. This union of soul essences is representative of this process.

True Twin souls are both male and female in physical form, but I have noticed that there is usually an inversion of soul essences existing within the form. Those with Twin Flame soul contracts are initiating a healing process within the other soul. The point of this healing work is to return the "lost" masculine/feminine aspect to the other to reinstate energetic balance and wholeness. Once this process has been accomplished, full union can take place. The physical male then becomes the masculine soul essence, and the physical female becomes the feminine soul essence.

Your twin essence was "created" alongside you in perfect unconditional love. And this is how you will recognize each other, for they are your eternal love and a mirror of your eternal self. You both must be in a space of unconditional love, ie Higher Self, embodiment in order to manifest one another. In the end, this is what a Twin Flame union really is: it is a merge of the Higher Selves within both of you in order to return back into singularity.
