Portland teachers go on strike demanding better working conditions

About 4,500 teachers in Portland, Oregon took to the streets, causing schools to close for students. They are striking for reduced class sizes, better pay and more school resources. The teachers were joined by students, parents, and other supporters and displayed a variety of placards and banners with slogans such as 'Our schools power our community,' 'Teachers – we serve the people' and 'Fund our future.’
