The OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer) is a NASA spacecraft mission launched in 2016 with the primary goal of studying the asteroid Bennu, a carbonaceous asteroid that is believed to contain pristine material from the early solar system. The mission aims to collect a sample from Bennu's surface and return it to Earth for further analysis.

The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft was launched on September 8, 2016, atop an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Following a successful launch, the spacecraft embarked on a two-year journey to reach Bennu, where it conducted a comprehensive survey of the asteroid's surface, composition, and geology.
