Apology to the Palestinian People

A few years ago I witnessed the 'Forgiveness Ceremony' between Veterans of the United States armed forces and Native Americans gathered to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline which is scheduled to pump oil from the Canadian tarsands across Native American territory.

I believed then as I believe now that this ceremony represents the only hope for peace and reconciliation in the Middle-East and elsewhere where people have suffered huge injustices.

The question I am unable to answer is whether I, as a Jew, can legitimately speak in the name of 'my people' or even beg forgiveness for something they have not only done in the past but are doing in the present too.

From a 'spiritual' perspective, we can consider humanity as a single unit and therefore it only requires one of us to speak these words into existence for them to have a much bigger impact. This is, in my understanding, wholly consistent with the claim that 'he who saves a single life saves the whole of humanity'.

I therefore humbly offer the apology that my brothers and sisters are not yet ready to offer of their own accord in the hope that these words may resonate beyond a few viewers here on Rumble.
