AI summit: Global leaders unite to discuss safety concerns for humanity's future
On the first day of the AI safety summit hosted by the British government, 28 governments including the UK, US, EU and China signed the Bletchley declaration to identify risks and opportunities surrounding artificial intelligence.
This comes after U.S. President Joe Biden's executive order to develop safeguards around the technology, including government oversight and transparency from developers.
The declaration highlights the potentially catastrophic risks of artificial intelligence to humanity and emphasizes the need for a full understanding of what big players aim to accomplish before setting rules.
