International Space Station Footage of Hurricane Patricia
In 2015, the International Space Station (ISS) captured striking footage of Hurricane Patricia, one of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere. The footage showcased the massive scale and intensity of the storm as it approached the western coast of Mexico.
The ISS's vantage point provided a unique perspective on the hurricane, allowing meteorologists and researchers to monitor and study its structure, dynamics, and potential impact on the affected regions. The data and images collected from the ISS were instrumental in tracking the storm's trajectory, predicting its landfall, and issuing timely warnings to residents in the hurricane's path.
