Music is about emotion. The way we express that emotion is through a series of connected shapes that, when put together like building blocks, allow us to take the ideas that are in our heads and express them through our fingers. There is so much expression to be had with music. It is an endless pursuit, and mastery is more about the journey than the destination. In this lesson, we'll look at only a fraction of the F Minor scale shape and break down several different ideas for guitar solos. Again, this is representative of just a fraction of one scale shape, using what I like to call the anchor notes or anchor shapes to find places where we can play melodic and expressive solos. These are building blocks. Imagine learning another fraction of the scale shape or a fraction of another scale shape, and then another, and then another, and so on. This is how we increase our vocabulary. We keep on adding puzzle pieces or building blocks until these ideas are soaked into our muscle memory and we are able to express on the fretboard the way that we feel inside. This is when we see the code! Please check out this awesome lesson about music expression, and don't forget to like, subscribe, and share, because there's much more to come!
