Colombia remains the most dangerous country in the world to be a trade unionist, with 12 colleagues murdered in the first six months of 2012. Thousands of other civilians are murdered, as part of a conflict which has raged for over 60 years. The Colombian trade union movement is calling for a peace process with social justice, alongside thousands of other civil society activists. JFC is now leading the campaign in support of the Colombian people's calls for a peace process.
