Confederate monument finds a forever home

he monthslong saga of a monument honoring Confederate general Robert E. Lee reached a possible conclusion Thursday night when Franklin Township officials identified a new spot for it to stand. Officials said the small plaque, formerly shrouded in ferns near Dixie Highway, will be installed at 1075 North Main Street -- also near Dixie Highway. The land is the property of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
