Daniel (Arabic: دانيال, Dānyāl) was a prophet sent to the Children of Israel. Despite not being directly mentioned in the Quran, sources mentioning him is retained in the Islamic traditions and exegesis, thus acknowledged by Muslims as one of God's messengers.
Historical accounts suggests that during the Muslim conquest of Tustar, his remains were found along with relics and scriptures, after which Umar ordered to be secretly reburied.
