Because of the swollen Iguazu Falls, rushing water enveloped the walkways that take tourists to a viewing platform over this natural spectacle on Monday.

The water level of the falls is almost 16 times higher than usual, the second highest record since water monitoring began in Iguazu, according to the Parana Energy Company (COPEL).

Tourists visiting on the Brazilian side of the falls can still visit different circuits in the area, but they are unable to transit the metal walkways that go into the falls. (Reuters)
