Hamas made a significant declaration on October 31, stating that some foreigners being held as hostages by it in Gaza would be released in "the next few days". Hamas' military wing Al Qassam Brigades' spokesperson Abu Obaida said that some countries had contacted the group with this request, and Hamas had conveyed its decision via "intermediaries".
