Driver jailed for killing a pedestrian in a horror smash

A driver killed a pedestrian, sending him flying into the air, while racing another car at high speed.
John Mulligan was driving a high-powered Volkswagen Golf TSI-R when he started racing another car at traffic lights and smashed into a man walking across the road.
The 33-year-old struck Paul Weidlich at nearly double the speed limit as he switched lanes to accelerate past his rival in a BMW.
