Curiosity is a car-sized Mars rover that was launched by NASA as part of its Mars Science Laboratory mission on November 26, 2011. It landed on Mars' Gale Crater on August 6, 2012, with the primary goal of assessing whether Mars ever had an environment capable of supporting microbial life.

The rover is equipped with a variety of scientific instruments, including cameras, a laser to vaporize rocks for analysis, and a drill to collect soil and powdered rock samples. These tools enable Curiosity to study the Martian terrain, climate, geology, and potential for habitability in great detail.
