The Michigan Department of Natural Resources reported on Tuesday that a 4-year-old doe in Klacking Township recently tested positive for chronic wasting disease.

The DNR said this is the first CWD-positive deer reported in Ogemaw County.

Considering the recent news, the DNR will be offering additional opportunities for those interested in getting their deer tested for CWD in Ogemaw County.

Chronic wasting disease affects the nervous system of deer, elk, reindeer and moose.
