You can’t argue with real observation

As you can see only 2/3 of the Moon is lit obviously from the top while the Sun is still in direct line of sight with the Moon. Based on this observation the Moon should still be fully lit from the Sun if we are to believe that the Moon phase is a direct result of the Sun!
