Have you ever come home to a scene of utter disaster? If you own a dog then the chances are that you have, at some point, come home to something that’s been destroyed. There’s no way out of this one. It’s not like he can blame it on another dog or some stray cat and now he’s getting a telling off from his owner and he’s not exactly taking it in his stride. Just look at that body language. His eyes have become slits, he’s shaking and can’t maintain eye contact. He knows he’s in the dog house and he knows exactly why as well. But he’s still offering that conciliatory wag of his tail, as if to appease his owner and say, ‘it’s not that bad.’

Animals know when they’ve done wrong and this guy knows that chewing through his water bowl is going to have consequences. The telling off is something that he’s just going to have to get through, but he knows that in 10 minutes it’ll all be forgotten and they’ll be friends again.
