Arrest made in Halloween weekend’s fatal shooting of 2 in Tampa

In Tampa, Florida, a man has been apprehended in connection with a mass shooting that occurred during early Sunday’s Halloween festivities. According to the police, the incident resulted in two fatalities and 18 injuries.

The shooting unfolded just before 3 a.m. in the Ybor City area, as disclosed by Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw during a press conference at the scene.

Later on Sunday, it was reported that detectives had arrested Tyrell Stephen Phillips, a 22-year-old individual, in connection with the shooting. Phillips faced charges of second-degree murder with a firearm.

Initially, authorities had stated that one suspect was in custody, and at least one other individual was being pursued, the Associated Press reported.
