BTS' Jimin decodes his solo album FACE, shares his favourite lyrics
BTS' Jimin recently appeared in a video on Weverse's official YouTube channel, where he discussed his album FACE and revealed his favourite lines from various song lyrics. He delved into the inspirations and thoughts behind his lyrics, as well as the creative process behind each track on the record. The video begins with Jimin introducing himself, he says, "My first official solo album, FACE, contains the bitter feelings I felt over the two-year pandemic. I felt emptiness while feeling enjoyment. And I was able to recover it while being determined. It contains the changes to my emotions."
He further says, "Each of the lines of the song contains my emotions, but did you also feel the same? All of the lyrics melted with my heart."Jimin reveals that Face-Off is filled with a multitude of anger and associated sentiments. He opts for This is my usual story as it perfectly encapsulates the emotions expressed in the song. In order to portray this accurately, he engages in a conversation with BTS' SUGA regarding the difficulties of human relationships.
He further talks about his next track, titled Like Crazy which was inspired by his favorite movie of the same name. He explains that the lyrics, "I wanna stay in this dream," reflect his own experiences of feeling dizzy and dreamy in various situations.
Jimin said that he dedicated a lot of effort to writing the lyrics for the third track, Alone. He wrote the song at the producer's residence, treating it like a personal diary entry. Jimin specifically selected the introduction and verse sections of the song because he personally enjoys them.
Jimin stated that he had experienced certain emotions prior to the release of Set Me Free Pt.2, but ultimately made the decision to let go and save himself, choosing to continue on his own path. He particularly enjoys the chorus section of the song. The opening line, "Going insane to stay sane, Raise your hands for the past me," draws inspiration from BTS' song ON.BTS' Jimin was given a suggestion by the producer to express his emotions towards ARMY fans in the last track, titled DEAR. ARMY. Jimin revealed that all the lyrics were written in the form of a letter. He specifically chose a section where RM also contributed to the writing - "If we were together, even the desert could turn to sea."
In conclusion, he expresses his gratitude for the fact that the ARMYs also possess the ability to inspire and uplift others.
