3 Macrame Leaf Design Patterns

Today I'm going to show you how to make 3 macrame floral leaf vine patterns using the double half hitch knot in this step by step tutorial! These patterns are perfect for a DIY wall hanging, making a keychain, making a macrame curtain pattern, and lots of other fiber art designs.

Confident beginners can totally make these patterns as long as you have a grasp on tying double half hitch knots (clove hitch).

👉 How Long to Cut the Cords:

Since these vine patterns have a lot of double half hitch knots, they use up a decent bit of cord. I recommend making your cord about 7 times the length of your desired piece, and if you're doubling over the cord like I am and attaching it with a lark's head knot, you'll need to double that.

So, for example if you want your vine to be 8 inches long (about 20 cm), you'll say 8 x 7 = 56", and then multiply that by 2 which equals 112 inches long.

That should give you enough cord to make the design without running out.
