How To Crochet An Amigurumi Ball (with Chunky Yarn!)

Learn how to crochet an easy and fluffy amigurumi crochet ball with thick yarn in this step by step beginner tutorial!

This chunky crochet ball is perfect for a stress ball, or you can use it as the head or another part of your big amigurumi projects!

If you're new to amigurumi, this is a great way to get started with the basics. I'll show you how to start your ball with a magic loop, how to crochet in continuous rounds (no seam on the side!) and how to do an invisible decrease. Beginners welcome!

The yarn I used for this is size 6 super bulky, and I used a much smaller hook than it calls for so there wouldn't be any holes in my finished ball.

How small of a hook will depend on how tightly you crochet, but I'll list down below what worked for me. (I usually crochet a bit loose, for the record.)
