OREGON - Health Insurance rates will be increasing

Oregon health insurance rates will be increasing. In doing some research there are several reasons why this is happening. In 2018 by the vote of the people taxes were added to insurance plans and hospital bills. In 2021 the legislature passed a bill which provides health insurance benefits through OHP to all people regardless of immigration status. In the last legislative session HB2002 was passed which requires all gender "affirming care" puberty blockers, hormone therapies and to be covered by OHP. All of these factors means an INCREASE in health insurance rates. The ones most effected? Small business owners AND people who pay for their own insurance.
