CHARLIE HATFIELD ~’THE ‘RAINMAKER’

Charles Hatfield was an ordinary sewing machine salesman, but in 1902 he created a secret mixture of 23 chemicals that literally made it rain.Over time, Hatfield started selling rain.

His fame grew and he concluded contracts for large sums. In 1916 Charles made a deal with the city of San Diego to make it rain, but the rain was so heavy it caused $3 million in damage to the city.

Charles died in 1958 without revealing the powder's secret formula. During his career, he caused more than 500 rains.
