Episode 21.b Mini-Ep. The Star Spangled Banner Poem

When Frances Scott Keye wrote the poem The Defense of Fort McHenry on the back of an Envelope, he did not set out to write our national anthem. Over the years it has been put to music, and far too often "over-sung" by those trying to impress with their vocal abilities. I thought it was time to review what he said and why. Here is the spoken version of the poem he penned on the back of an envelope, while on a British Prison Ship.
